Who is This Test For?
Food isn’t an easy topic to discuss when it comes to our health and wellness. What goes down easily for some might be, well, sensitive for others. But food is the stuff of life. It nurtures and sustains and is the bedrock of existence. FLUIDS iQ’s highly sensitive analytical tests measure the levels of IgG antibody reaction to very specific food ‘antigens’, thereby offering up an opportunity to learn something about how our bodies react to certain foods and food groups. We think that’s something everybody can benefit from, regardless of age.
As part of our Intestinal iQ™ series, FLUIDS iQ offers a Total IgG 88 Food Panel. Together with the tests for Permeability and Inflammation, this food panel helps paint a picture of gut status.
Sensitivity vs Allergy
There’s lots of talk and a whole bunch of confusion on this topic. But let’s be clear: Food sensitivity is an abnormal immune reaction to certain foods, with symptoms generally limited to the intestine, a.k.a. “the gut.” Basically, the kind of stuff that leads to too many bathroom visits. This distinguishes it, completely, from food allergy, which may cause a multitude of body responses including severe, life threatening, allergic reactions (anaphylaxis). FLUIDS iQ tests for food sensitivities and not food allergies.
Our Philosophy on Foods
The way we see it, when it comes to testing foods, more isn’t the merrier. In fact, we believe that 88 foods can tell us 90% or more of the story. At FLUIDS iQ, we view food sensitivity analytical wellness testing through a functional lens. What do we mean by that? One word: Enzymes. Food, no matter what kind, require enzymes to break them down into the components our body needs to digest them and benefit from their nutrients. And based on where our body breaks down specific food groups, there are particular enzymes it uses for that purpose. Whether it’s proteins, fats or carbs, there’s an enzyme for that, and food sensitivity testing can be a helpful tool in assessing enzymatic imbalances. Sure, you can test a ton of foods but from our vantage point a little can tell you a lot.
